Three Bee Maidens

I lead the brand and packaging design for Three Bee Maidens, an artisanal infused honey brand that pairs sustainably sourced wildflower honey with cannabis extracts. I build their visual identity that reflects the product’s elegance, potency, and botanical roots.

The Challenge:

Cannabis-infused products are evolving, but public perception still lags behind. Many brands lean heavily into stereotypical imagery or overly clinical branding, leaving little room for elegance, heritage, or craft. The Three Bee Maidens set out to change that.

Their flagship product, a small-batch, preservative-free, cannabis-infused honey, is grown and harvested in Northern California and rooted in a commitment to healthier consumption and connection. The challenge was clear: build a brand that makes you feel like you walked into your parent's house and heard them say, "hi, sweety".

The People:

The founders of The Three Bee Maidens are Moms. Their work is intergenerational, infused with care for generations following them. They came to me with a clear vision and a deep knowledge of their product, but needed design support to bring their brand to life.

The Process:

I partnered closely with the founders to translate their ethos into packaging and brand identity. We explored why they're building the company, mythological references, and the rich history of apothecaries and feminine mysticism.

From early sketches to prototyping labels, every element was considered: typography, color palette, illustration style, and how the product would feel in someone’s hands. The goal was to create something that felt intentional and artisanal, something that would look at home, in your home.

Why It Matters:

In an industry that often prioritizes flash or function, The Three Bee Maidens is carving space for healthier alternatives, feelings of home, and connection. Through thoughtful design, I've helped design a product that reflects the values of the women behind it, and offers consumers a more beautiful way to enjoy recreational cannabis.
